Tiraspol, 4 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Hardly can the current work of expert groups be called highly efficient, says Pridnestrovie's acting foreign minister, Vitaly Ignatyev, in an interview with the Moldavskiye Vedomosti newspaper.
«Generally speaking, expert groups are facing a total deficit of contacts and political will towards finding compromise decisions," underscored Ignatyev.
He also mentioned that in November alone the Moldovan delegation had refused to hold meetings of the expert groups on education, legal and documentation provision, as well as a working meeting of experts regarding the dismissal of criminal cases. There was a certain slowdown with other experts, as well.
«Of course, we can hardly expect any progress when Moldova either refuses to meet or disposes its experts to reject Pridnestrovie's initiatives. In the context of a reduction in the dynamics and quality of experts' work, draft decisions are not worked out to be further discussed at higher negotiation levels," said the minister.
Vitaly Ignatyev emphasised that the interaction between the two sides is characterised today by centrifugal processes, drawing the negotiation process back to the early 2012 level.
«The Moldovan side is trying to ignore any acute issues, calling Pridnestrovie's natural and appropriate desire to quickly solve them 'ambitions' and 'speculations'. Moldova's attempts to suppress problems, to conceal them behind a 'waterfall' of stock phrases and protocol ceremonies, including formal calls to continue work in the 5+2 format, are vain. On the one hand, they are aimed at distracting the public attention from actual problems in the dialogue and from ongoing unilateral discriminatory steps by Moldova and Ukraine, and on the other hand at creating an illusion of complacency," said the minister.
According to Vitaly Ignatyev, this approach is hardly well-grounded «as it does not allow them to adequately perceive real facts.»
You cannot keep from stimulating experts' work and making decisions at chief negotiators' level, nor can you constantly 'shut your eyes' to problems. Regular attempts to «duck and cover» hinder the protection of legal rights and interests of the citizens of Pridnestrovie and Moldova," concluded Ignatyev.
