Tiraspol, 7 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The infantry units of the Operational Group of Russian Forces (OGRF) in Pridnestrovie have held a peacekeeping exercise, the press service of the Western Military District reports.

According to the exercise plan, the enemy had intentionally committed a road accident near the peacekeeping post to distract its personnel's attention.

As the Russian servicemen moved to the place of the accident to provide medical assistance to the victims, terrorists fired at the post using various weapons to make a corridor for bringing ammunition and weaponry to the Security Zone as well as for the penetration of an illegal armed group.

The servicemen organised a defence, called for reinforcement and began to repulse the attack. Upon the arrival of the reinforcement unit the enemy had already been blocked and afterwards eliminated.

The exercise involved about 150 servicemen with over 10 pieces of weaponry and hardware and over 3,500 pieces of blank ammunition and simulation tools being used.

Such exercises are held at a specially equipped training ground simulating a peacekeeping post. The conduct of the exercises was scheduled.
