Vadim Krasnoselsky received official delegation of Hungary

Representative Hungarian delegation arrived in Pridnestrovie to document the desire for twinning between the cities of Bendery and Hajdunanas.

The one-day visit started from the Military Historical Memorial Complex of Bendery. Accompanied by the Head of Administration of Bendery Roman Ivanchenko, Advisor to the PMR President Pavel Prokudin, and Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Stetsyuk, Hungarian guests, including the mayor of Hajdunanas Szólláth Tibor and Deputy Ambassador of Hungary Sandor Hodi, laid flowers at the former Hungarian military cemetery and laid flowers to the burial place of the Hungarian military, lit commemorative candles in the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands. Part of the delegation continued to get acquainted with Bendery, visiting local museums and art gallery, and the leadership arrived in the Pridnestrovian capital to meet with the PMR President.

Welcoming the guests, Vadim Krasnoselsky called the meeting not accidental. The President emphasized that Pridnestrovians cherish the history and honor the memory not only of the soldiers-defenders, but also of all those who by the will of fate remained on this land forever. The President spoke of the Second World War, which cut short millions of lives, calling it the greatest of the tragedies, and that Fascism lost in it, and all the participating nations suffered. Vadim Krasnoselsky also remembered how the names of buried at the Bendery cemetery Hungarian soldiers were restored. “Death is not so terrible as obscurity. It is very important that relatives have the opportunity to bow to the graves of their relatives”, the President emphasized. He drew attention to the fact that most of the Hungarian soldiers buried in Pridnestrovie were from the same city - Hajdunanas. The mayor Szólláth Tibor, expressing his gratitude to Vadim Krasnoselsky and the whole Pridnestrovian people, said that the relatives of the victims dream of visiting the burial site of their fathers and grandfathers, but most of them are very old people. Therefore, it is a special honor for him to lay flowers on the graves of Hungarian soldiers on behalf of all compatriots.

Deputy Hungarian ambassador Sandor Hodi in the course of the meeting spoke about connection between times and nations. The interlocutors discussed various aspects of Pridnestrovian-Hungarian interaction.

At the end of the meeting with the PMR President, Szólláth Tibor and Sandor Hodi joined their colleagues in Bendery. The ceremony of signing the Protocol on the intention to conclude an agreement on twinning between the cities of Bendery and Hajdunanas will take place in the building of the state administration.
