Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatyev has met US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary James Pettit.
According to the MFA's press service, special attention was paid to the current situation in the negotiations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. In particular, Vitaly Ignatyev noted the importance of the active involvement of the international mediators in revitalising the negotiating process, including at the level of the «Permanent conference…» in the «5+2» format.
«As we can see, at the current stage the international observers have certain expectations in a number of areas, and I hope that all the sides also want to move forward. At least, Pridnestrovie does want to, as we have already put forth practical proposals to resolve some pressing issues," said the minister.
At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to maintain contact on matters of mutual interest.
