Tiraspol, April 4. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The PMR MFA sends appeals to international partners for each problem arising in connection with the blockade of Pridnestrovie by Moldova. Yet there has been no major change in the situation. Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev said this at a meeting of the Security Council under the President.
“We turn to international partners, participants in the 5 + 2 format, send a corresponding appeal to the Moldovan side, conduct a direct dialogue, including via telephone, Internet connection with a political representative, with OSCE mission, mediators for each situation, literally for each shipment. Yet, unfortunately, this fails to yield satisfactory results,” he said.
Expert (working) groups are barely functioning (since the beginning of this year). It is they who are called upon to solve specific problems related to banking, economic, and transport issues and issues related to the fight against crime and criminal cases.
“Initiatives have been sent to the Moldovan side regarding the development of a particular mechanism for the transit of medicines, plant protection products, and industrial goods through Moldova to Pridnestrovie. Unfortunately, the Moldovan side has not yet properly worked out the mechanism, even in terms of medicines,” Vitaly Ignatiev stated, recalling that they did manage to do this in the pandemic 2020.
