The family of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, together with thousands of residents and guests of Pridnestrovie, took part in "The Immortal Regiment" mass event. The President held a portrait of his grandfather Vasily Ivanovich, one of the four Krasnoselsky brothers who fought in the Great Patriotic War.
The march was organized from the theater square. The choice of location was not accidental. It was on the theater building that Private Mamedov hoisted the victorious red banner on April 12, 1944, signifying the successful completion of the assault on the city and the end of the German occupation. The participants of the event were moving along the central street of Tiraspol to the Glory Memorial.
