The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Moldova Dominique Waag. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev traditionally took part in the working discussion with of the foreign state representatives.
Dominique Waag has headed the French embassy in Moldova for 10 months, but she arrived in Pridnestrovie on a working visit for the first time. Vadim Krasnoselsky, welcoming the guest, noted that he would like to know her opinion regarding the current state of affairs in the negotiation process and how she sees France's participation in it. The diplomat noted that she is monitoring the situation, drawing information through the embassy line, from the media and from sources related to the Moldovan authorities. The ambassador noted that while in Chisinau she heard a lot about the difficult economic situation in Pridnestrovie. According to Dominique Waag, she arrived in Tiraspol to better understand the situation. The head of the French embassy noted that she wants to know the opinion of the Pridnestrovian leadership on the prospects of the "5+2" format.
Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the negotiation process is practically frozen at the moment, and the "Permanent Conference..." format does not work. Connections have been severed, expert (working) groups are inactive, and pressing problems are not being resolved as a result. A negative factor according to the PMR President is the lack of meetings between the top officials of the states. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized at the same time that Pridnestrovian side is consistent in its desire for a productive dialogue at any venue and in various formats.
