Pridnestrovie's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made a statement in this respect

Tiraspol, 25 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. «On 25 November 2015, at nearly 13:00, Russian historian, head of the Balkan department of the Russian Institute for Strategic Research, Nikita Bondarev, who arrived in Kishinev by flight S7 157 at 12:30, was deported back to Russia," says the MFA statement.

According to the ministry, the RISR employee, who was going to Pridnestrovie to participate in the international Serbian-Pridnestrovian conference at Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University scheduled for 26 November, was banned from entering Moldova.

The MFA states that «this incident is by no means the first among Moldova's discriminatory measures aimed at restricting political, diplomatic, information and academic contacts of Pridnestrovie. Moldova has already applied the same measures to a number of other RISR employees, Pridnestrovian citizens, scientists and journalists going to Pridnestrovie.

Pridnestrovie's foreign ministry underscores that «Pridnestrovie independently establishes parameters for cooperation with international representatives in academic, information, political and other spheres and does not accept Moldova's interference in the issues whose decision is the sovereign right of Pridnestrovie. Another irrational attempt by Moldova to isolate Pridnestrovie from information, expert and academic exchanges is a clear example of Moldova's lack of confidence in its own political approaches, its desire to withhold information on the actual situation in Pridnestrovie from foreign partners, as well as evidence of Moldova's commitment to a conflict paradigm in the dialogue. Pressure on cultural, humanitarian and educational spheres is an indicator of evident gaps in political culture of Moldovan officials, their incapability to take objective reality and carry out argumentative, mutually respecting communication.»

«By applying inquisitional practices of suppressing the very opportunity to discuss urgent issues in the sphere of economy, security and human rights, Moldova tries to secure its monopoly for informing the international community on the Pridnestrovian settlement and progress in the negotiation process.

Pridnestrovie's MFA proceeds from the fact that the international community, mediators, guarantors and observers of the 5+2 format cannot any longer ignore these radical manifestations.

The MFA also announces that Pridnestrovie reserves the right for retaliatory measures towards Moldovan citizens in Pridnestrovie. The MFA urges the Moldovan leadership to critically review these unreasonable steps and stop disgraceful practices of blocking international academic and expert contacts of Pridnestrovie, focussing on solving Moldova's permanent domestic problems," says the MFA's statement.
