Tiraspol, 20 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Any military preparations either by Kishinev or Kiev cannot remain unnoticed and ignored in Pridnestrovie, the president said at a press conference following the annual state-of-the-nation address.

«When we see Ukraine concentrating its military forces near the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border, when we see Kishinev increasing the number of military drills conducted under the auspices of NATO, we regard it as destabilising impulses," said the head of state.

The president added that Pridnestrovie «does not understand why use such impulses to create additional tensions in the region where the peacekeeping operation is under way.»

«Why is it done this way? Probably, to enable certain political forces overseas to gain their own political dividends, in other words, they are virtually playing with weapons, putting human lives on the line," underscored Yevgeny Shevchuk, calling it «a very dangerous act».

He added that Pridnestrovie is working out solutions based on what is going around.

«The state is obliged to keep its forces in a certain state of alert. I think that what happened in Kishinev on 9 May — the arrival of high ranking generals, statements which somewhat relate with Romania's actions — is a very serious destabilising impulse. I'd like to urge all participants to avoid adding pepper into very difficult relations between Kishinev and Tiraspol. We have too much of it already, and we also have very many unsolved problems," concluded the head of state.
