Situation in Security Zone remains stable

The extraordinary JCC session has confirmed Russian military observers and heard the JMC's reports about the situation in the Security Zone in the past six weeks.

«We evaluated the work of our military observers in the past six weeks. We may state that the situation in the Security Zone is manageable and controlled by the Joint Peacekeeping Force," said Pridnestrovie's co-chair to the JCC, Oleg Belyakov.

He also noted that putting the issue of unsanctioned flights in the Security Zone on the agenda had been blocked by the Moldovan side.

«We can see Moldova's blunt refusal to put this issue on the agenda. Many facts remain uncertain about these flights. Why did double-purpose aircraft fly over the PMR's territory for a month, especially over definite objects, and collect definite information? The Pridnestrovian side will continue to insist on putting this issue on the agenda," said the head of the delegation.

According to him, a decision on the OSCE's proposal has not been made today.

«The OSCE proposes to visit all peacekeeping posts, military installations of Moldova, Russia and Pridnestrovie. We are ready to discuss this issue. We announced today we were ready to put this issue first on the agenda, but were blatantly refused by the Moldovan side," underscored Oleg Belyakov.
