President meets head of OSCE Mission to Moldova

Vadim Krasnoselsky looks forward to the OSCE continuing active participation in the negotiating process between Moldova and the PMR

Tiraspol, 6 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Vadim Krasnoselsky has met the head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Michael Scanlan, the president's press service reports.

Welcoming the American diplomat, Krasnoselsky noted he appreciated the ongoing dialogue with the OSCE and was looking forward to the organisation continuing active participation in the negotiating process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

"The discussion of some issues is going into the home stretch. I'd like to know once again it is too early to speak about any political models. There are issues that affect a large number of people. It is these issues that should be discussed and compromised to bring positions closer together and solve the problems that have existed for decades between Pridnestrovie and Moldova," said Krasnoselsky.

Scanlan, in turn, thanked the president for his personal participation in the negotiating process.

"As you have said, there is no reason to say it is impossible to address issues that are important to people's lives," said the diplomat, assuring the president that he would continue to act as a mediator in the negotiations.

He is confident time is now ripe to take concrete decisions, and the result will not be long in coming.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue an active and substantive dialogue on topical issues.
