Tiraspol, May, 9. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The President Vadim Krasnoselski congratulated the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and all Pridnestrovians on the 74th anniversary of the Great Victory.
"Victory! This word, repeated millions of times both shouting and whispering in May 1945, to the roar of gunfire and salutes, was the most long-awaited and most important. The victorious May brought the final liberation from the fascist plague to the peoples of Europe. The bloodiest war in history had ended, there was peace, and together with it there was the opportunity to live freely, to love, to create, to enjoy sun shining, smiles and laughter of children,” the congratulatory text says.
The head of state noted that the victory did not come on its own, but it crowned the unprecedented feat of the Soviet people at the front and at the home front. A heavy price was paid for the victory, a price of many millions of lives.
The President also stressed that the Immortal Regiment unites today both those heroes who died in the fight against the fascist scum and those who died later.
“To love our Fatherland and do everything for its prosperity is their covenant to us, their descendants. Eternal memory and eternal glory to the lost heroes! We are immensely grateful to you, dear veterans of the Great Patriotic War, for your courage, resilience and heroism, for the peace and freedom bestowed upon us,” Vadim Krasnoselski concluded.
