Vadim Krasnoselsky: The implementation of the "law on separatism" could be a fatal shot in the negotiation process

The PMR President called on the OSCE to act as a guarantor that no criminal pressure would be applied against Pridnestrovians

Tiraspol, February 15. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian President Vadim Krasnoselsky called on the current Chairmanship of the OSCE to act as a guarantor that no criminal measures of pressure would be applied against Pridnestrovians. The head of state wrote about this in his telegram channel following a meeting with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Foreign Minister of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani.

Recall that one of the topics of the meeting was the "law on separatism" - amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova, adopted by the Moldovan Parliament on February 2.

“I paid special attention to the problem related to Moldova's attempt to launch a criminal-repressive mechanism that outlaws every citizen of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on the territory of a neighboring country. I regard such measures as a flagrant violation of the principles of the negotiation process and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as a violation of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, the right to protect the identity and free choice of the Pridnestrovian people. The implementation of the repressive mechanism by Chisinau can become a fatal shot in the negotiation process, destroying almost three decades of common efforts towards a peaceful and civilized settlement,” Vadim Krasnoselsky said in his telegram channel. The President of the PMR proposed the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office to "support practical measures to de-escalate" the situation that has developed after the decision of the Moldovan Parliament.
