Vadim Krasnoselsky held a meeting with members of the Presidium of "The Union of Defenders of Pridnestrovie" public organization of the republican on the eve of a significant date for the Pridnestrovian people – the 33rd anniversary of the tragedy in Bendery. Valery Shirkov, Anatoly Bulda and Sergey Garbuznyak were invited to the conversation. The Head of the Administration of the PMR President Sergey Belous, the PMR Government Chairman Alexander Rozenberg and the PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov also took part in the conversation.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the current state of affairs in the republic, summarize the results of the organization's activities, and outline plans for further work. The PMR President noted that the fundamental tasks of the Union are to support defenders and their families, work with young people, and preserve the historical truth about the events of 1992, which was tragic for the Pridnestrovian people. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that Moldova does not abandon its attempts to distort history, not only the shameful Moldo-Pridnestrovian war, but also the Great Patriotic War.
"It has been 33 years, a considerable period since the invasion, but the memory is alive, in my opinion. What worries me most, let's say, from the point of view of the external factor? This is an attempt by today's Moldovan authorities to distort the history of this war. This attempt is not the first by and large and I am convinced that not the last. Neighboring states distort the history of the Great Patriotic War – a sacred holiday for all of humanity, the liberation of the world from the Nazi-fascist plague. They have managed even here to smear everything with dirt, turn liberators into "occupiers", and turn Nazis, fascists, Nazi-fascist beasts into "liberators" or simply into people who are outside this misfortune. The same applies to the Soviet period – the time when they are still trying to distort and show that the Moldavian SSR was "under the occupation of the Soviet Union", which is an absolute lie. They are trying to present the war of 1992 as if Russia and Pridnestrovie allegedly attacked poor and unfortunate Moldova. Which is again a lie. Moldova's invasion of the city of Bendery on June 19, 1992 did take place. Not only without warning about the start of the war, but demonstratively a day after the decision of the Moldovan parliament on an exclusively peaceful solution to the Pridnestrovian issue. A peaceful solution. How this so-called peaceful solution ended, we saw on June 19, 1992. People died, civilians of different ages, defenders of Pridnestrovie died. It would seem that this is enough of a lesson. Do you know what is scary about distorting history? The fact that they call the victim a "monster", and the monster a "victim" is not so bad. Everything is much deeper and much more terrible. When the final rethinking of history on their part happens so to speak, when it is completely distorted, then there will be a very high risk of a repeat of the disaster. Why in Pridnestrovie do we tell the truth about all the facts, about our tragedies, about our victories and are not ashamed of this? Only when you know the truth, you do not wish for a repeat. The essence is important here. It is in plain sight in principle it would seem. But someone passes by it, not paying attention and thinking that something can be changed in history, rewritten, presented differently, and nothing will happen. No. It will definitely happen. It is the same as throwing a stone into the water and thinking that there will be one circle from the stone. But there are hundreds of circles on the water's surface, if not more in fact. These are the consequences of an action. The same is in this case. Change something, distort something – there will be many consequences, which they do not even think about now, do not think about. The most terrible consequence is a repetition of that tragedy, a repetition of the war in Pridnestrovie. Of course, neither Russia nor Pridnestrovie attacked Moldova. We defended ourselves. Not only police forces were used against us, but also armed forces, the mobilized armed forces of the Republic of Moldova. This is a completely different story. The desire to whitewash oneself completely excludes any kind of apology to the Pridnestrovian people naturally, any kind of legal solution in terms of condemning those who gave the order to invade. They are all known. There was a president, there were security ministers, there was a parliament. They are all known. The Pridnestrovian people know by name all the murderers and destroyers of the people, including the Moldovan people. Whitewashing is a complete denial of one's guilt and repentance. I repeat once again, the danger is that if such events develop, the distortion of history will lead to the fact that all this can be repeated. This is unacceptable. It is very easy to generate, start, and invent a war, but it is very difficult to stop it. I absolutely agree with those who claim that a war cannot be stopped on paper – simply by signing some document: they put their signatures – and the war is over. This is impossible when there is bitterness, when there are field commanders, when the destinies of people are distorted by war. These are formalities – on paper. We need to think about this, we need to talk about this, without being shy. Do not think that if you know this, everyone knows. Generations grow, generations change. Therefore, we also need to think about this and bring the truth to the first, second, third generation, who, thank God, have not been touched by this war, of course. Only the truth. The truth is the tool that will allow us to avoid a repeat of the massacre. The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic has traditionally been for peaceful negotiations, for an exclusively peaceful solution, for unfreezing the negotiating platforms for the sake of achieving goals, and the first of which is maintaining peace on the Pridnestrovian land", Vadim Krasnoselsky said during a conversation with the defenders of Pridnestrovie.
Informing about the work of the Union in terms of patriotic education of youth, the President's interlocutors reported that the young people with whom the defenders interact have begun to more often give preference to education within the walls of the Tiraspol Military Suvorov School and the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the PMR. The participants of the meeting discussed the program of events that are being prepared for the 35th anniversary of Pridnestrovie. They talked about the further implementation of the program for the installation of monuments to the fallen and deceased defenders of the republic. The issue of providing housing for participants in military operations who need better housing conditions was raised.
