Vadim Krasnoselsky visited the cherry orchard in Chobruchi

While with the inspection in Slobodzeya district, the president met with the Proventus agricultural company director Mikhail Rotar. They talked in the territory of the cherry orchard, located in the village of Chobruchi. The company was created in 2010. It specializes in stone fruit crops. The total area of gardens is 26.2 hectares: 11 hectares of cherries, 10 hectares of peach, 6 hectares of plum. A young plum garden was set out this year. They are picking cherry now. The first batch was exported to Romania. They are collecting an order for Russia now. The Europeans also show interest, said Mikhail Rotar. A potential customer from Macedonia came the other day. He liked the products. The variety is suitable for processing. The only thing that sugar content should be slightly higher – not 15, but 17 grams per 100 ml of juice. It is only necessary to collect fruits a couple of days later to fulfill this condition.

Vadim Krasnoselsky asked if the crop was damaged from spring frosts. Plum didn’t like the cold, but the cherry not only resisted, but also surprised: a record 16 buckets in each unit are collected with the usual collection of 9 buckets from a tree this year, the agrarian said. He noted that the company uses advanced technologies for the garden and drip irrigation.

The President clarified how many employees are involved. Four experts in the agricultural films, and seasonal work attract up to hundreds on an ongoing basis.
