The most distinguished citizens are honored in Tiraspol every year on the eve of the main state holiday. The solemn awarding ceremony takes place in the small hall of the Palace of the Republic. More than a hundred Pridnestrovians representing a wide range of activities will receive orders, medals, and documents on conferring titles from the hands of the country's top officials.
Addressing those awarded state awards, President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky noted: "Our state has been living and developing in difficult conditions for 35 years. We have truly lived through difficult times. This is the collapse of a single state called the Soviet Union, this is an era of confusion, a certain period of time, and the need to create our statehood as a defense of human and civil rights and freedoms. We have been through all this. We have gone through military actions. The peace process has begun. We are going through all sorts of political, economic, and energy blockades today, but nevertheless, Pridnestrovie lives and develops. No matter how difficult it is. This is happening only thanks to the people – the Pridnestrovian people. No one doubts this. The fact that a unique community called the Pridnestrovian people has been created on the banks of the Dniester is a fact. Probably, one of the most important achievements of the Pridnestrovian statehood is interethnic harmony, a kind, respectful attitude towards each other – regardless of faith, language and nationality".
The PMR President thanked those gathered for their work and service. He especially singled out the founders of the republic. Among those awarded was the First President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky presented him with the Order of Catherine the Great. The PMR President wished everyone peace, stability and prosperity.
