The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic celebrated the 35th anniversary of its statehood. Festive events were organized throughout the republic. Official celebrations with the participation of top officials were held in the capital. The main square of Tiraspol was decorated. Congratulations and information about how, under what circumstances and in what conditions the decision to create the young republic was made, what was its path of formation and development were heard for all to hear.
A delegation headed by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky arrived at the Tiraspol Memorial of Glory in Tiraspol to pay homage to the graves of the defenders who at different times gave their lives for peace on the Pridnestrovian land. Those who suffered the tragic year of 1992 were among the departed heroes. Their memory was honored with a minute of silence.
The PMR President laid a presidential wreath at the Eternal Flame, a symbol of undying memory, and flowers at the graves of the defenders, stone slabs with the names of the dead, and monuments of the memorial complex.
The heads of state authorities and administration, the First President of the PMR Igor Smirnov and his associates who participated in the events of the period of the creation of the young republic, official representatives of foreign states, clergy led by Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Sawa, military personnel, cadets, Suvorov cadets, public figures, Tiraspol residents and guests of the city took part in the flower-laying ceremony.
The Honor Guard Company and the orchestra of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the PMR marched ceremonially to the flagpole to participate in the Flag Raising Ceremony of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic at the end of the memorial and ceremonial event.
