A mourning ceremony for the rector of the Pridnestrovian State University Vladislav Sokolov was held at the Cultural and Educational Center of the Pridnestrovian State University. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky arrived to see him off on his final journey. The President expressed his condolences to everyone who knew Vladislav Sokolov and addressed words of support to his loved ones. The President said that he had many years of cooperation with the deceased and highlighted such qualities of Vladislav Sokolov as calmness, decency and sincere kindness. Vadim Krasnoselsky did not ignore the courage and fortitude of Vladislav Sokolov which he demonstrated among other things in the fight against illness. The President said that Vladislav Vladimirovich was involved in the university management until the very end, passed away, but did not leave the university.

Vladislav Vladimirovich Sokolov was born on October 11, 1971 in Tiraspol. He graduated from Tiraspol Secondary School No. 12 in 1987. He began his career in January 1987 as an apprentice turner in the chief mechanic's department of the central repair shops of the Cotton Production Association. He was awarded the qualification of a turner of the 2nd category in June 1987.
He entered the State Pedagogical Institute named after Taras Shevchenko in Tiraspol (specializing in "Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education") in 1989.
He graduated from the Pridnestrovian State Corporate University, receiving a diploma in the specialty "Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education" and the qualification of a primary school teacher in 1993.
He worked as the head of the correspondence department of the Tiraspol branch of the Moscow Institute of Entrepreneurship and Law from July 1993 to August 2000.
He graduated with honors from the Tiraspol branch of the Moscow Institute of Entrepreneurship and Law in the direction of "Management", specializing in "Management in the main structures of the market" in 1996.
He defended his dissertation for the degree of candidate of economic sciences on the topic "Human Resources in the Conditions of the Modern Labor Market" in January 2000. He was awarded the academic title of associate professor in the Department of Management in Educational Culture of the Academy of Management in Education and Culture of the Institute of Management, Economics, Law and Informatics in the same year.
He was appointed director of the Tiraspol branch of the Chisinau Institute of Applied Integrated Knowledge and held this position until July 2002 in August 2000. From October 2002 to July 2003, in connection with the reorganization of the multi-level educational institution "Tiraspol Interregional University", he was vice-rector of this university.
He headed the Tiraspol Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR named after Kutuzov from 2003 to 2009.
He defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Economics on the topic "Strategy for Personnel Management of an Organization" in 2003, and was awarded the title of professor in the specialty "Economics and Management of the National Economy".
From 2009 to 2015, he headed the State Educational Institution "Pridnestrovian Industrial and Economic College".
Director of the Tiraspol branch of the "Moscow Institute of Entrepreneurship and Law" from 2015 to 2017.
Rector of the "Tiraspol Interregional University" from 2017 to 2020.
He was transferred to the Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko to the position of Vice-Rector for Economic Activity and Strategic Development in February 2020.
He was elected Rector of the "Taras Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University" on April 28, 2022.
Vladislav Sokolov is the author of scientific works and educational publications on issues of economics of management. Awarded: the Order of Labor Glory, the Badge "For Distinction in Service" 2nd degree, the Medal "For Distinction in Labor", the Breast Badge "For Distinction in Service" 1st degree, the Medal "For Loyalty to Duty and the Fatherland", the jubilee medals "15 Years of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic", "35 Years of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic", "75 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War" and "80 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War". Holder of the title "Excellent Public Education of the PMR". He passed away on September 9, 2025.
