Thirty-three members of parliament were officially confirmed in their parliamentary mandates. The corresponding procedure took place today at the Central Election Commission. The renewed parliamentary corps met for the first time at the republic's legislature then. The first session of the Supreme Council of the PMR of the 8th convocation was officially opened. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky addressed the newly elected deputies. "The citizens of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic have placed great trust in you to represent the interests of the people in the legislative branch. This trust must be justified, we must move forward, we must solve the problems that arise and will arise. This is absolutely normal. There is no need to fear this. Much work remains", the President said.
According to the regulations, the speaker of the first session was a parliamentary elder. This was Valery Babchinetsky, not the first convocation.
The Chairman of the PMR Central Election Commission Stanislav Kasap addressed the election results during the first plenary session. The leadership of the legislative body was formed at the same meeting. Tatyana Zalevskaya was elected Chairperson of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic by open vote. Galina Antyufeeva and Alexander Korshunov served as Deputy Speakers. The date of the next plenary session has been set: December 9, 2025.
Addressing the members of Parliament, Vadim Krasnoselsky called today's events important. The President spoke about the importance of parliamentary and legislative activity, emphasizing that the Soviet or parliamentary model is the most effective and harmonious. The President emphasized interaction with citizens, emphasizing that dialogue breeds trust. "The people have elected you, dear colleagues, members of the Supreme Council. This is a great trust and an even greater responsibility. You are the link between the Pridnestrovian people and the government. This contact must always exist", the President stated.
Vadim Krasnoselsky highlighted among the tasks facing the elected members of parliament and the country's leadership as a whole the social obligations fulfilling, security ensuring, and maintaining peace. The President, while not denying the influence of external factors, called for not citing them, but instead for making every possible effort to strengthen and develop the state from within.
Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated the new Chairman of the Supreme Council on his election and urged the members of parliament to work as a united team.
