Vitaly Ignatyev: Kiev statements on the necessity of military concentrations along Pridnestrovie's border pursue information purposes

According to Pridnestrovie's foreign minister, in this way Kiev wants to revive the Ukrainian agenda in the world's mass media

Tiraspol, 11 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today the acting minister of foreign affairs, Vitaly Ignatyev, has held a briefing on the results of his visit to Moscow.

Besides this topic, journalists brought up the questions relating to Pridnestrovie's relations with adjacent countries. In particular, Vitaly Ignatyev was asked to comment on Ukraine's strengthening its military force near the Pridnestrovian border.

«There are no grounds to strengthen military infrastructure. Nevertheless, as we can see, certain statements are being made, and the military force is being stepped up near the border, which of course creates a negative context. It should be noted that there are nearly 100,000 Ukrainian citizens in Pridnestrovie who endure all hardship and costs caused by Ukraine's restrictive measures," said Vitaly Ignatyev in this regard.

He specially emphasised that in this way Kiev aimed to draw the mass media's attention to Ukrainian problems as «Ukraine's topic had lost its relevance as a top news».

Vitaly Ignatyev also mentioned that Pridnestrovie had suggested the diplomats from the Ukrainian embassy to Moldova visit the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border. However, only Russian ambassador expressed desire to make sure Pridnestrovie was not engaged in military preparations.

Besides, the acting foreign minister noted that the Ukrainian leadership could acquire trustworthy information about the situation in Pridnestrovie from their military observers, who are part of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces. «We hope that reasonable approaches will prevail and the Ukrainian side will rely on the trustworthy information provided not only by Pridnestrovie, but also coming from their own military observers," said Vitaly Ignatyev.
