Tiraspol, 28 November. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Yevgeny Shevchuk has submitted draft laws to the Supreme Council prohibiting cuts in pensions and public sector salaries. The bills are to be considered by the parliament in the regime of legislative emergency in the period of five days.

The submission of these bills was announced by the president last week during his address to Pridnestrovians. Yevgeny Shevchuk noted that because of elections provocateurs were spreading rumours in the country that pensions and public sector salaries would be reduced.

«Therefore, I am submitting a draft law providing for a strict ban on any cuts in pensions and public sector salaries in Pridnestrovie.» said the president.

At the same time, Yevgeny Shevchuk expressed hope that this step would put an end to any insinuations and outspoken gossip.

«Our pensioners will receive reliable protection," explained the president.
