Memorial plate inaugurated in Tiraspol

It honours the Heroes of the Soviet Union whose fate was closely connected with Tiraspol

Tiraspol, 9 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A memorial plate has been attached to the facade of the House of Officers to commemorate the Heroes of the Soviet Union whose fate is closely connected with Tiraspol. There are 21 names of fallen warriors on it.

The opening ceremony was attended by servicemen of the Operational Group of Russian Forces in Pridnestrovie, headed by Colonel Dmitry Zelenkov, the clergy of the Tiraspol-Dubossary diocese and military veterans.

The chairman of the diocesan department for interaction with the Armed Forces, Cossacks and law enforcement agencies, dean of Moscow's St Andrew's Church Protopriest Valery Loznyan read a prayer and consecrated the plate, the diocese's press service reports.
