Tiraspol, March, 12. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today the President Vadim Krasnoselky held a meeting with the archbishop of the Tiraspol and Dubossary Diocese.
Promoting of orthodox belief and association of people around Christian traditions – such is a main objective of an upcoming event which was discussed today by the President and the archbishop Savva. It is about the easter festivities planned for April 29 – the second day of Easter. Vadim Krasnoselsky considers that the church holidays which are widely celebrated by the pridnestrovians should obviously be in the cultural events plan.
The Head of the state suggested to organize a large-scale orthodox festival in the Bendery Alexander Nevsky Park and also easter celebrations on other platforms in the cities and districts of the republic.
The President addressed the archbishop Savva for diocesan assistance, having noted that by preparation all church canons and traditions have to be considered.
The archbishop with interest apprehended an initiative. The scenario plan will be developed by organizers in close interaction with priests and administration of the Tiraspol and Dubossary Diocese, the Presidential Press Service reports.
