29 YEARS AGO MOLDOVA WITHDREW FROM THE COMMON STATE WITH PRIDNESTROVIE

On June 23, 1990, the Parliament of Moldova declared illegal the formation of the Moldavian SSR, created by the accession of Bessarabia to the MASSR (Pridnestrovie)

Tiraspol, June, 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. 29 years ago, together with the Declaration of Sovereignty of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Moldova, which proclaimed the supremacy of the laws of Moldova over the union laws, another document was adopted.

The Supreme Soviet of the SSRM adopted a resolution on the conclusion of a commission on the political and legal assessment of the Soviet-German non-aggression treaty and the Additional Secret Protocol of August 23, 1939 (the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact).

The document declared illegal the proclamation of the Moldavian SSR on August 2, 1940. It was created by joining Bessarabia, liberated from the Romanian occupation, to the Moldavian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (MASSR) other words to Pridnestrovie.

By this decision, the Moldovan Parliament actually divided Bessarabia and Pridnestrovie and refused a common state, and this happened a year before the collapse of the Soviet Union.

On September 2, 1990, on the basis of referendums and taking into account the decision of the Moldovan Parliament, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian SSR was proclaimed in Tiraspol.

According to international lawyers, the process of disintegration of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic (MSSR) is one of the legal forms when instead of one successor state two historically separate parts having the necessary objective grounds for succession emerged - the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Moldova.
