The President took part in a ceremonial meeting on the occasion of the 107th anniversary of the formation of the fire service. The event was held on the parade ground of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The Pridnestrovian firefighters are employees of the Main Directorate for Emergency Situations, which is a structural subdivision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Flowers were laid traditionally, on the holiday at the monument to the employees of the internal affairs department who died in the line of duty. The lives of five Pridnestrovian firefighters were tragically cut short during their service.
It was recalled during the meeting that the history of the fire service of our republic officially dates back to the adoption of the decree "On the organization of state measures to combat fire" on April 17, 1918. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized at the same time that the date taken as a basis is rather conditional, since at all times there were people who chose saving people from fire as their life's work: "Fire protection has historical roots that are much deeper than the corresponding decree. There have always been people in any society who extinguished fires and who saved people. It was transformed with the development of society, with the development of the state, and today it is a single service of firefighters and rescuers. It is very difficult to imagine some situations without the participation of rescuers. It is impossible to imagine the elimination of a fire and its consequences without appropriate specialists, without firefighters".
Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to the personnel of the Department of Emergency Situations for their service. The most distinguished were awarded state awards and certificates of "Honored Employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR". Departmental awards and documents on assigning the next special rank were presented by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Neagu.
The event participants inspected the new service vehicles at the end of the festive rally and the ceremonial ceremony. Three powerful fire trucks were purchased for the departmental anniversary (they will be sent to Grigoriopol, Dubossary and Kamenka) and seven quadrunners, which will be distributed among the rescue services of the towns and districts of the republic.
