Presidential Address to Government Authorities and Administration: an expanded task-setting meeting has begun
29 Jan., 2026, 10:12The President is holding a major annual meeting. The meeting is being organized via videoconference. Approximately six dozen officials, as well as representatives of public organizations and the media, are on the line with the President. Many ministers have also invited the heads of their departments to participate. This has become standard practice, made possible by remote collaboration. The agenda includes three main items: the Presidential Address to Government Authorities and Administration, a summary of the 2025 Year of the Pridnestrovian People, and an action plan for the 2026 Year of the Pridnestrovian People.
Vadim Krasnoselsky outlined the important events, challenges, and achievements of the past year and outlined the current situation before announcing the annual goals, objectives, instructions, and longer-term strategic guidelines. Pridnestrovian realities in 2025: a complex geopolitical situation along the republic's perimeter; an unprecedented energy crisis, which dealt a serious blow to the Pridnestrovian economy; and the stagnated "5+2" format. At the same time, the state fulfilled its social obligations, the exchange rate was maintained, domestic producers received support, the Capital Investment Fund and other development programs were implemented, and elections to the Supreme and local councils were successfully held. The most important achievement of the past year, as well as of several decades, according to the PMR President, is the preservation of peace in Pridnestrovian. In this regard, Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed special gratitude to the peacekeepers – Pridnestrovian, Russian, and Moldovan – who jointly ensure peace and security. The PMR President noted that last year marked two important dates: the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 35th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky deemed the work of the state apparatus in 2025 satisfactory. Turning to the task setting, the President noted that they had been thoroughly developed, including taking into account incoming requests from citizens and organizations. The materials were organized into sections reflecting the goals and principles for the development of the Pridnestrovian state as set out in the Development Strategy of the PMR for 2019–2026: political stability, economic self-sufficiency, and social justice. Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled the key objectives: strengthening the independence of the PMR, continuing to develop the "Pridnestrovian people" community, and building a socially oriented state with a market economy. The President noted that the eight-year Strategy expires this year.
Vadim Krasnoselsky urged each meeting participant to carefully consider not only the core tasks but also those addressed to other agencies, as all points are closely intertwined and will be implemented through joint efforts.
