Tiraspol, 22 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky intends to preserve the stability of the Pridnestrovian state and its independence. He made this statement in the Russky Vopros TV show on Russia's TV Centre channel.

One of the main subjects raised during the interview were relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, as well as the readiness of the new Moldovan president, Igor Dodon, to resolve the Pridnestrovian issue through federalisation or confederalisation.

«This the choice of the Moldovan people, and the people's choice must be always respected. Time will tell as to which extent Igor Dodon will be an independent [figure]. Even if Igor Dodon is a pro-Russian politician, the Moldovan parliament is pro-European, and Moldova is a parliamentary state. No strategic decision by the president will have legal force until it is approved by the parliament. This is very important; therefore, I see a future conflict of interests between the parliament and the president in Moldova. And this may lead to another «orange» wave," Vadim Krasnoselsky believes.

According to the head of state, it is Pridnestrovie's independence is a guarantee that «another 'orange' wave in Moldova will not overflow» the republic.

«I want to preserve the stability of the Pridnestrovian state and its independence. And when come statements about federation or confederation… First of all, it is necessary to ask the opinion of the Pridnestrovian people. And the people gave a clear-cut answer — for independence with the subsequent vector towards Russia. This is the choice of the Pridnestrovian people which cannot be called into question," underscored the president.

Vadim Krasnoselsky also noted he sees only peaceful variants of the settlement of relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova and is ready to discuss any issues, except the political status of the republic.

«We are a peaceful state, and we have [other] issues to resolve. Let's leave aside the political issue. Let's handle the issues which are of interest to people here and now and at once. Among them are the issues of humanitarian and cultural cooperation, the issues of recognising our documents, our education diplomas, our licence plates, termination of politically motivated criminal proceedings against Pridnestrovian citizens, as well as unblocking of railway communication, etc. This is what we are ready to discuss in any format I am ready to discuss it with anyone for the benefit of the Pridnestrovian people. But there's no need on any account to tamper with our political status," concluded the Pridnestrovian president.
