Vadim Krasnoselsky met with Iwona Piorko, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova. The meeting took place at the presidential executive office. This was the ambassador's first visit to Pridnestrovie. She assumed her current position this year. She was accompanied by deputies and advisers on political affairs and trade. The Pridnestrovian side in addition to the President was represented by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the PMR and Minister of Economic Development Sergei Obolonik, Adviser to the PMR President Pavel Prokudin, Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev, Minister of Internal Affairs Vitaly Neagu, and Chief State Sanitary Doctor Natalia Beril. Introducing the participants, Vadim Krasnoselsky explained that their invitation to the discussion was prompted by the topics that require discussion.

Speaking about the state of the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian negotiation process, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that it must continue under any circumstances. The PMR President recalled that the work of the "Permanent Conference..." format was frozen in 2019, when the Moldovan negotiator refused to sign the final protocol in Bratislava. The "5+2" format has stagnated since then. The situation has been aggravated by circumstances such as the coronavirus pandemic and the fighting in Ukraine. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, many problems, including the energy and economic crises, are directly related to the lack of a full-fledged negotiation process. The President emphasized that the Pridnestrovian economy is oriented toward the European market among other things. "We must work openly, honestly, and transparently. Naturally, Moldova should not create obstacles to this", said the President of the PMR, noting that Moldova by ignoring the position of the European Union and the DCFTA is currently hindering the full implementation of export-import operations by the Pridnestrovian business community. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed hope for the productive engagement of Europeans and Iwona Piorko in particular in resolving the accumulated problems. "Today's meeting is the initial stage of our communication. I hope for a good, positive result. I would like to immediately propose moving from the diplomacy of slogans, from the diplomacy of words so to speak, to the diplomacy of deeds," the PMR President noted.

"I hope that this first visit of mine will be one of many visits, and I truly count on a good working relationship. I believe in diplomacy of deeds and in diplomacy of words, but I do not believe in diplomacy of slogans. We are engaged in the settlement process as an observer and this engagement is guided by peaceful dialogue and practical cooperation, as you said. It is good to hear that you are committed to promoting peace and stability. For our part, we encourage constructive engagement of Chisinau in existing working formats. It is important to remain constructive and avoid any things that can complicate this dialogue. Peace is about dialogue," assured Iwona Piorko. The European diplomat outlined the Pridnestrovian perspective on conflict resolution prospects, the economic situation in the republic, the allocation of EU financial offer, and respect for human rights and freedoms as areas of interest to her.
