Vadim Krasnoselsky is on a working visit to Slobodzeya district. The President met with the head of the local administration, as well as with the Minister of Agriculture. The current situation was discussed. The President asked about the state of affairs in the agricultural sector. According to Vasily Tishchenko, sowing is at the final stage. The area of sown fields exceeds 59 thousand hectares. Of these, 30406 hectares are under winter crops, and 24537 hectares of the planned 28600 hectares are currently under spring crops. The plan for spring grains and legumes has been fulfilled by 83%: 10139 hectares of the planned 12251 hectares have been sown with wheat, barley, oats, corn, millet, sorghum, buckwheat, peas, beans, chickpeas, lentils, and triticale. The performance indicator for sowing industrial crops is almost at the same level: 12.6 thousand hectares out of 14 thousand hectares. All potato seeds are already in the ground (270 hectares). 1276 hectares have been allocated for other vegetables. 1027 hectares have been developed (80%). The largest amount of sweet corn (600 hectares) and green peas (330 hectares) were planted. A hundred hectares under cabbage, 60 hectares – tomatoes, the same area is sown with onions, a little less – 55 hectares – carrots, there are cucumbers, beets, sweet peppers, eggplants, pumpkins, squash. Melons occupy 40 hectares. 616 hectares are planned to be planted with forage crops. 79% of the work has been completed.
Winter crops in parallel with sowing work are being fertilized, the President was told. A large amount of work has been done on pruning perennial plantings. Coverage is 1157 hectares.
The President decided to visit some agricultural enterprises in the district.
