Tiraspol, 2 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The MFA has hosted a meeting of the deputy foreign minister, Alexander Stetsyuk, and the UK deputy ambassador to Moldova, Neil Martin.
Welcoming the guest, Alexander Stetsyuk thanked the UK for its intense attention to Pridnestrovie as part of both bilateral cooperation and the current situation in the negotiating process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. The deputy minister also praised the project for delivery of a fire engine from Great Britain to Pridnestrovie, which was carried out a few months ago, the MFA's press service reports.
The diplomat also drew the attention of the British side to the fact that Moldova and Ukraine had launched a joint customs and border control project at the Kuchurgan checkpoint, despite numerous arguments by Pridnestrovie on the inadmissibility of this decision. In the meantime, Alexander Stetsyuk noted that this unilateral step would undoubtedly have serious negative implications in various spheres and was another stage of the blockade of Pridnestrovie.
«Unfortunately, Kiev and Kishinev have taken concrete action-oriented measures to launch the joint control project. In this context, we are even more anxious to maintain international contacts with our partners in order to inform them of the objective development of the situation, including in relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova," said the deputy minister.
The parties also discussed a number of issues of further cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the UK embassy.
